RISC
RISC's goals are to: produce regional scale climate change information for use in impacts and adaptation studies, analyze the uncertainty inherent in regional scale climate change, and develop and/or participate in regional assessments of climate change.
It works closely with GSP, CGD, and the new NCAR Vulnerability, Impacts, and Adaptation elements in NCAR as well as external partners to attain its goals.
Currently its major activity is the North American Regional Climate Change Assessment Program (NARCCAP) which is producing multi-model ensembles of high resolution future climate simulations to explore uncertainties related to spatial scale of climate simulations and provide climate change scenarios over North America for use in climate analysis projects and climate change assessments.
Worshops hosted by RISC in 2012:
NARCCAP 4th Users' Meeting, April 10 - 11, 2012
Theme-of-the-Year Summer School on Uncertainty in Climate Change Research: An Integrated Approach, August 6-24, 2012
